This course is designed to meet the OPITO standard for
personnel to serve as Team Leader of an Offshore
Emergency Response Team on an offshore installation.
Delegates on this course must hold a current BOSIET or
FOET certificate or suitable alternative certification and
ideally possess a current Offshore Emergency Response
Team Member Certificate or alternative certification.
A minimum requirement is that the delegate has undertaken Fire / Emergency Response Team Training.
Delegates successfully completing the course will have
achieved practical knowledge of:
Taking charge of an emergency response fire team.
Confidence to carry out responsibilities as leader.
Offshore emergency response procedures, including confined space, radiation, unignited hydrocarbon, gas releases and chemical incidents.
The role and responsibility of Emergency Response Team Leader.
Elements of leadership.
Team elements.
Incident planning.
Communication techniques.
Dynamic risk assessment.
Certificates carry an expiry date, requiring the holder to undertake 'Further Training' in line with the Oil & Gas UK Guidelines.
