This course is designed to meet the OPITO Approved
Standard in training personnel to take charge as
Coxswain of a Emergency Response Vessel away from
the Standby Vessel but within UK legislation.
Pre-requisite training for this course is possession of a
current FRC Coxwain certificate and participation in an
approved OODTP training programme. The pre-learning
pack must be completed.
Training is carried out at Petans purpose-built Offshore
Survival Training Platform at Lake Lothing, Oulton Broad,
Lowestoft which is equipped with a variety of rigid
survival craft including Watercraft 50 and 54 man, and
Whittaker 28 and 54 man types.
Training is classroom and practice based with assessment
both oral and written.
Delegates will learn proficiency in:
Pilotage.
Launch & recovery. Navigation IRPCS. Use of radar & GPS.
Passage & field planning. Emergency self rescue.
