This training is intended for seafarers who are designated to provide
medical first aid on board ship and conforms to the Merchant Navy TMG Bd (MNTB) Standard:

Prerequisite training
Have 6 months logged sea time.

Course content
The syllabus focuses on:

  • Being able to apply immediate First Aid in the event of and accident or illness on board
  • Having knowledge of reference materials, First Aid and Medical equipment on board and understanding the equipment on board and understanding its use in the management of accidents and medical emergencies.

Recommended refresher training
Holder should undertake Further Training in line with International Maritime Organisation and Maritime & Coastguard Agency Guidelines.
