The Helideck Emergency Response Team Member (HERTM) course is to train HDA’s and future HLO’s with the knowledge, understanding and skills required to perform an emergency response team member role.

Prerequisite training

• A valid OPITO Helideck Operations Initial Training Certificate

Course content

The main objectives are for delegates to fully understand the role and responsibilities of a Helideck Emergency Response Team Member and practice responding to a variety of helideck fire-fighting and non-firefighting emergency scenarios in a training environment.
Delegates successfully completing the course will have gained knowledge and skills of:

• Helicopter emergency systems and controls
• Helideck emergency systems and controls
• Breathing apparatus and entry control
• Helicopter firefighting tactics and techniques
• Normally unattended installation (NUI) exercises

Recommended refresher training

• Currently OPITO require you to carry out refresher training every 2 years

Course fees include:

• Issue of OPITO certificate on completion - email only, delegates are asked to provide their email address, failure to do so will result in the certificate being emailed to the course booker.
