Mark, a Trustee since 2005, has extensive knowledge of the energy sector with a career spanning 30 years predominantly in the East of England after relocating from Aberdeen in 1984.

In addition to being Area Manager for Aker Solutions, a global provider of products, systems and services to the oil and gas industry, he is an elected director on the board of EEEGR and was Chairman for 5 years.

He also is a private sector board member of the New Anglia Local Enterprise Partnership where he is the lead on Energy and the Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft Enterprise Zone.

John Best joined James Fisher & Sons plc in April 2012, to lead its business development in Sustainable Energy, with particular focus on the low carbon marine opportunities associated with the energy sector.

John formed and ran EEEGR as its Chief Executive, from April 2001, leaving in March 2012 after 11 years. In that time it grew to over 370 members.

John left school in 1971 at 16 and trained as a navigator. From 1980 to 1986 he worked in the offshore oil and gas industry starting as a chartering clerk with Wimpey Marine, ending as Marine Manager.

In 2007, at the TAF Best Practice Awards, John received The Individual Contribution Award for outstanding contribution in the trade association sector.

Offshore Wind Generation Manager, 
Scottish & Southern Energy 

Stephen has worked in the Electricity Supply Industry since starting an apprenticeship with Eastern Electricity in 1997 at the Great Yarmouth depot. He has worked through the privatisation and various acquisitions as a cable jointer, technician and field coach until joining GE Energy in 2000 as their UK Health and Safety Manager.

He then worked as the Operations Manager looking after production team on 400MW gas fired power station in Great Yarmouth having also spent 12 month in the GE Offshore Wind business in UK and Europe.

Stephen is also on the Board of Directors for Walney Offshore Wind Ltd and also a member of the Trust for Petans training in Norwich.

HSEQ Advisor

With a background in teaching and lecturing in schools, colleges and university for half his career Robin has also gained professional qualifications in: mountaineering; sailing; and management.

For 10 years he led the largest outdoor education programme in Scotland.

Moving on to consultancy led to further career experience in: offshore contracting; corrosion management; and operational management for UK
national construction companies.

The combined experiences of managing varied workforces in hard and unforgiving working environments have given him a special competence in reconciling business objectives with safety and quality imperatives. This is exemplified in current association with Petans as Trustee and HSEQ Manager.
