This course meets the OPITO standard for the training of personnel to serve as a member of an offshore Emergency Helideck Team.
Delegates are trained as members of a team required to respond to emergencies on offshore helidecks. This includes maintaining the helideck in a state of readiness and carrying out all equipment checks.
Pre-requisite training for the delegate is possession of a current BOSIET or FOET certificate or a suitable alternative programme.
Certificates carry an expiry date, requiring the holder to undertake 'Further Training' in line with OPITO standards.
Delegates successfully completing the course will have gained knowledge and experience of:
Assisting during normal operations.
Identifying hazards relating to offshore helicopter operations.
Maintaining, cleaning and carrying out service checks on BA sets.
Responding to the appropriate alarms and safely entering the incident area.
Carry out firefighting operations.
Rescue of personnel.
